This AI generated video of a pug saving a baby hit #3 on YouTube and racked up 410 million views.
The genre is called AI Slop and it’s gaining traction, especially in Shorts.
And these creators are making money!!
Here’s why it works.
People love a good story. They will forgive the graphics.
Ever since AI video hit the scene I’ve been saying one thing – those who can write stories will win.
Take Star Wars, for example. The first 3 movies had a hero’s journey story line that made you empathize with the rebels. You wanted to see them win!
But, the pre-triology set of films that came next were all about the graphics. You didn’t care who won, you just wanted to be wowed by the scenes. They lacked good storytelling.

In particular they’re bots are looking for tons of hashtags and super long captions.

Now, these are higher production films where AI is being used mainly for effects. But, Hollywood no longer needs insane budgets for CGI anymore because of this.
I’m using Unreal Engine (which is free) to create scapes for my videos. And this is the same software that these films are using to create whole worlds as greenscreen backdrops for the actors.

I’m leaning hard into reviving my Heartwood Art YouTube channel.
I let it go fallow for about 4 years – and still got paid that whole time because the videos are evergreen.
Now I’m focusing on shorter videos – like this Red Marking Pen Review. And that’s going to be great for gift-giving promotions too!!!
I did make one exception with this DIY Music Keyboard Pullout Tray video. It is 14 minutes long.
Making this much longer was most definitely a strategic choice.
I did my research and there are several videos on this topic. But none of them show the full details. I do!!!!!
Over a few years, some have gotten 100k views. That’s what I’m shooting for.
And this longer one qualifies for mid-roll ads. I saw 3, so that means triple pay.
Plus, there is one product that is central to the success of building this, and I have my affiliate link in the description, plus mention it 2-3 times in the video.
So, this one is all about the money.
